Curry County in Oregon is trying to put us out of business with their regulations (see article in the Curry Pilot). Our non-profit is in good standing with state of Oregon, but the county says that since we quarantine the horses for 30 days after arrival to ensure they do not bring equine diseases to the area, they consider us a boarding facility. Because of this we are now required to apply for a conditional use permit (CUP) to stay in business. It will cost us $2,000 to apply for this permit. It takes a great deal of resources to pay for the care of these horses, including veterinary care, feed, etc. If we are forced to pay for the permit to meet these county regulations, it has the potential to negatively impact the quality of care the minis are getting. Please help us by donating so we can get past this county hurdle and continue to provide these horses with the care they need.
